Seriously - point by point, actor by actor, narrative, dialogue, scenery, tension emotion, editing, filming, or all the components of a great drama "The Wire" far outdistances "The Sopranos" on every rational aspect. Oh except the fact that The Sopranos was viewed by ignorant wannabes (and prejudical critics) who could never accept an intelligent drama such as The Wire with a mostly black cast.
This is an awesome list and couldn't agree more about The Wire (try the WMD or yellow caps) being the best TV drama ever. three that didn't make the list that I really enjoyed are; Rescue Me which is just great! and the second is a lesser known show called "brotherhood" it was a showtime show and it was great!! The guy from zero dark 30 is in it. The last is a pretty good insight into the war in iraq and that may be why I liked it some much. "Generation Kill"
Division and Gold! Generation Kill was truly excellent and no surprise that David Simon and Ed Burns from The Wire created the show. I would love to get your insight into the show tomorrow night. I have never watched Rescue Me but heard good things and I have also heard very good things about Brotherhood. What was your least favorite show on the list John?

ReplyDeleteBuffy and 90210 are just teenage melodrama junk. Try to rewatch some of them, they are terrible and unwatchable.
