Professor Giordano's Top 150 Films

Below please find a list of what I believe to be the best 150 films ever made. A few words of caution about this list. There are two more films then there should be. This list is not in order and hence even though a film may appear listed with a number that does not mean that is where I would actually rank it. 3. But I liked how your list had a ton of different kinds of movies on them. Spirited Away was one of my favorite anime films and I enjoyed Akira as well. Did you ever see Ghost in the shell? it is similar to Akira.

  4. P.S. Did you see the new Hobbit movie yet? It should be on the list soon. Peter Jackson at his best. Some of the film is shot in 48/frames per second. It's like you are in middle earth.

  5. I have seen Ghost in the Shell but not in a very long time. I really enjoyed The Hobbit as it was the first of the Peter Jackson books that I read. I thought the movie was really really good. Most films are shot in 24Frames Per Second and the Hobbit was shot in 48 Frames Per Second you are right. However, I think it was only shown that way in certain theaters tat are capable of showing that kind of Frame Rate. I saw it I believe in the standard 24 Frames Per Second and not in 3D. Many people complained that the 48 FPS was too detailed, however others have been on your side and said that it really enhances the movie going experience! Well done John.

  6. What I haven't seen on your list is: City of God, Ben Hur, Amélie, L.A. Confidential, Dark City, Lawrence of Arabia, All Quiet on the Western Front, The Manchurian Candidate, Downfall, Brazil, Fargo, The Dirty Dozen, History of the World Part 1, Carlitos Way, Ran, The Grapes of Wrath, Once Upon A Time in the West, Doctor Zhivago, The Lives Of Others, A Bronx Tale, Les Miserables, Midnight Cowboy, The King's Speech, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, and Persepolis.

The film I like the most on this list is: Pirates of the Caribbean
The film I like the least is: Citizen Kane, because it gets drilled in my head all the time by media classes. It's not a bad movie but I'm kind of sick of it by now.

What this list is missing is The Iron Giant. It's completely underrated and has to be one of the best animated films ever made.
